Insei collection

Posted by Jim Boukis at September 14. 2006
I just noticed that sorin uploaded his game collection as an insei in Japan. Very nice games, there are not many comments but still very useful. I wonder if it is possible to organise them better?

Not sure what do you mean by organizing them better - do you mean putting them in different folders? If so, there are only 2 categories I can think of: insei vs. insei and insei vs. pro games.

Is there something else you have in mind?

Even in two categories it would make a difference. Or say arrange in folders by year... I don't mean to complain, I mean it's great already that you share these games with everyody, it will just make it easier to navigate. You could also change the titles a bit, or maybe it's because you did the new mass upload thing? I found about the games by searching for takemiya which is a personal favourite. I didn't know he had a daughter, very nice game I voted for it!!!

Sorry for my english, I hope it makes sense;)

Many pro players used to have their kids in the insei school when I was there (and I suppose it's also true today).

Takemiya sensei had a son (Yoko) in the insei school, not a daughter :)

His style was very much like his father's: only hoshi as the first 2 moves, with large center moyo. And his personality was like his father's, too: very open, talkative and fun. You can read about his career on gobase's player directory: http://gobase.org/information/players/?pp=Takemiya%20Yoko and can see his photo on Nihon Ki-in's directory: http://www.nihonkiin.or.jp/player/htm/ki000356.htm

Takemiya Yoko is 5 dan pro now (gobase's info is outdated).

It was Rin Kaiho who had an insei daughter at that time (but she was in D class, didn't seem to enjoy playing Go much - I think she quit being an insei after a while).

I'll think about organizing my games better - don't have much time for that, that's the only problem.

I just love Go gossip;) I also assumed Yoko was a female name (propably because Ono os the only Yoko I know of).

I will soon update the game folders view and it will be easier to see at a glance, so don't bother about it yet unless you really wanna reorganise them.
